New website launched

A revamped insiteronline.com has been launched, unveiling an innovative and sleek design that aims to attract more visitors, particularily student. With a domain that has hit thousands of visitors in the month of October 2011, the new design will be posing as one of the media outlets that are aimed to give a strengthened voice to the students on the University of Malta campus. Speaking during the launch, Website Editor Jake Dalli said that the new design also gives enhanced importance to advertising due to the distinguished space it gives it.

CEO Emma Gauci commented on the importance of the presence on the web of student organisations, especially for Insite which is the student media organisation. Linking with this, External Officer Warren Sammut explained the importance of being the main source of news and media at the University. “Your University Your Media” is the campaign tagline that aims to consolidate Insite’s established position of being able to voice student thoughts. Sammut encouraged students present at the launch to contribute by tipping Insite’s Media teams with news ideas.

IC Weekend

Insite organises its annual seminar over a weekend in November. This year it will be between 11 and 13 at Bay Street Hotel in Paceville, St. Julian’s. The accomodation is on Full Board Basis. The seminar will entail 3 separate workshop groups on Journalism, Photography and Video with important Media Professionals. This is all Degree Plus Certified. The weekend also includes social activities such as a themed Drinks Included party. The price for this is just €95, which is totally Smart Card Refundable. Freshers’ Week 2011

Freshers’ Week coming up, Visit Insite stand on quad as soon as you come up the staircase. Insite will be welcoming Freshers to its stand as part of the 2011 Freshers Campaign “Your University, Your Media” – meant to introduce the Freshmen to the media organisation that will, finally, attach them to the University. Insite will be promoting it’s IC Weekend, the Media weekend in November. Early birds can get a discount on the IC Weekend, which is totally Smart Card Refundable. There are also competitions and draws which students can enter. Insite will be launching it’s refurbished media outlet insiteronline.com and distributing it’s newly printed, fresh, The Insiter. YouthFest- UK

‘YouthFest’ is arguably the first ever-known festival organised for youth workers only. It proposes bringing together 200 youth workers, (100 local and 100 from overseas) to celebrate all that is positive in youth work in Derry in Northern Ireland.

European Conference “Framework, Quality, and Impact of Young Europeans’ Learning Mobility”

4SAIL- Netherlands

4 SAIL is a partnership Building Activity on a sailing ship in which couples of youthworkers and youngsters share projects and build partnerships for sending and hosting short-term volunteers.

Board, lodging an programme costs will be provided and paid for by the Dutch National Agency. The travel cost will be paid by the National Agency that will sent you. In some cases National Agencies ask for a participants contribution. Check your National Agency.

During 4 days an international group youth workers/mentors wil focus on building reliable partnerships using intercultural learning methods to discover and discuss the needs of their young people. Young people will have the opportunity to meet other potential volunteers and build relationships.
