Portugal – EVS

Project Venue: Lisbon, Portugal
Project duration: Starting May-June 2011 and lasting 6-12 months

Volunteer tasks:
The volunteers are going to work mainly in three of the Junta’s departments:
- the Youth Department,
• Cooperate with the Youth Coordinating team
• Cooperate with partners of the Youth Coordinating team
• Promote and participate in activities with young people and community
• Elaborate and implement projects in the youth field

- the Education Department

• Cooperate with the Education Coordinating team
• Cooperate with the Trainers
• Facilitate and promote activities for children and school community
• Elaborate and implement new projects in the area of education

- the Culture Department:
• Cooperate with the Culture Coordinating team
• Participate in organization of cultural events and activities for the local community
• Cooperate with formal and informal groups in the area of culture
• Elaborate and implement of new projects in the area of culture

Volunteer Profile:
Volunteers aged 18-30 years, open minded, eager to learn about new cultures and lifestyles, as well as to participate in the proposed project activities with the local community. It is not required to have any particular degree of formal education, but to have positive and proactive attitude, show tolerance, flexibility, motivation and enthusiasm.

Education for sustainable development facilitates change, in knowledge, attitudes,& behaviours, towards leading more
sustainable lifestyles. Digital tools can encourage and empower youth to take action on local & global sustainable development issues.

Teachers, head teachers, teacher trainers, and child, youth and adult educators from EU countries,* Croatia, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway, Turkey and Switzerland, are eligible for Comenius or Gundtvig grants. The funding is available for workshops taking place in Oulu, Finland during 2011 and includes participant travel costs, accommodation, breakfast and lunch, and the course fee. *Please note participants from the host country, Finland, are required to pay their own costs. The next deadline to apply for workshop funding is 14 January 2011 – funding is for educators in employment and also those who are currently unemployed and seeking employment. Accommodation, breakfast and 1 meal : 600.00€ Course Free: 750€
