Scriptamanent Competition


The competition is open for young people between 15 and 30 years, resident in one of the European countries, who did any kind of volunteer service abroad between January 2008 and January 2011.

Everyone can partecipate by sending a piece of writing which has been inspired by the experience. It can be written in any form (reportage, story, diary, poetry, etc.) The work has to be sent in the WORD (.doc) .) until the 01.02. 2011 to this e-mail: scriptamanent@europe.com

The work has to be long at least two folders (one folder is made of 1800 characters) but not longer then 6 folders.

The work needs to be sent together with the sheet of registration completely filled-in. If the registration sheet is missing the work is going to be excluded from the competition.

The work can be done in one of these languages: Italian, English, French, Spanish, Portuguese or German.

The winning work, unchallengeable choosen of the Jury, will be assigned the 1st price, which is the sum of 300 euro. The second and the third winner are going to be awarded by a voucher for purchase books. The Jury reserves the freedom not to assign any award, if they consider it as necessary.

The selection process will bea s follows: the writing will be published on the bloghttp://scriptamanent2010.wordpress.com starting from the 1st of September 2010. The readers will vote them through the rating system and the 10 most voted stories will access to the final phase. The Jury will chose the best one among them.

The works are not going to be refunded and the Associazione Culturale Link reserves the rights to use them s without asking permissions of the writer.

Scholarship opportunities for youth in the new EU member states

Scholarship opportunities for applicants from the new EU member countries to Crossing Borders Global Studies spring 2011

Applicants from the EU member countries that joined the EU from 2004 till today are invited to apply for scholarship to Crossing Borders Global Studies at Krogerup College in Denmark.

The Crossing Borders Global Studies is a unique programme designed for internationally-minded and socially-committed applicants from around the world. The programme focuses on current institutional, cultural, environmental, conflict and citizenship dimensions of globalization, including the UN 2015 Millennium Development Goals. The programme includes introduction to Danish society and culture, practical English language and a two week study tour around Denmark.

What does the scholarship cover?

The scholarship educes the full fee course of 4180 Euro down to 1000 Euro. The scholarship together with the 1000 euro covers full tuition, food, accommodation in double room during the semester period 9 January to 11 June 2011, including 2 week study tour around Denmark.

Who is the scholarship for?

To be considered, scholarship applicants must be

  • From the Baltic States, Bulgaria, Hungary, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Malta, Cyprus or the Czech Republic.
  • Good enough English skills to actively follow lectures and discussions
  • Interested in contributing to the peaceful development of their communities
  • Willing to share experience, knowledge and exchange ideas with fellow youth from different cultures
  • Able to pay the basic fee of 1000 euro by 25 November

OAS/UPEACE Scholarships for Professional Development Courses in Costa Rica

The Organization of American States (OAS) and The University for Peace through the UPEACE Institute have decided to support outstanding individuals of the Americas by offering OAS/UPEACE scholarships to further their education through the following Professional Development courses:

One Week Course:
* Fundraising for Sustainable Development

Two Weeks Courses:
* Sports and Peace
* Arms Control and Disarmament Today
* Environmental Security Assessment: Principle and Practice
* Gender and Human Trafficking

Three Weeks Courses:
* Curricular Design for Peace and Conflict Studies
* Hunger, Famine and Food Security

The courses will be held from January 17th to 04th February 2011, in Ciudad Colón, Costa Rica. The scholarship will cover 100% of the tuition cost and acomplementary subsistence amount of $150 per week. In order to apply for the OAS/UPEACE Scholarship, participants must be admitted to the course.
